R&D Story
Untold R&D Story of the Development Process to Manufacture One Finished Vehicle
Ride and Handling
Incredibly Comfortable Nature
Steering Systems (Xcient)
Very strong linkage apparatus is in use, which takes into consideration the diverse conditions in using a heavy-duty truck.
Total Front- / Rear-Wheel Air Suspension (Xcient)
This is designed to adjust the vehicle position by changing the air pressure and its volume through the air suspension systems. It also keeps the overall height consistent, regardless of the payload to ensure optimized overall height of the vehicle, depending on the road conditions.
GFRP (Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastics) Spring, H350
Made of a more improved composite material, fiberglass reinforced plastic, it is 80% lighter than the existing steel-based spring. This has led to weight reduction and increased rust resistance.
Durability
The harder the whip is, the stronger it becomes.
Complex Durability Test
Intended to secure reliable durability with regard to the rigidity of a vehicle body, the chassis structure or frame, and more. To remedy issues not discovered in the existing durability testing mode, tests are carried out in harsher and more varied road conditions.
Road Load Data Acquisition (RLDA) Test
Designed for short-term durability evaluation in a scientific and sophisticated manner that recreates the same impacts on a vehicle in different directions as those given while running.
Rig Durability Test
Designed to systematically manage the durability of every single part by setting durability standards suitable for each of its numerous parts, and then securing respective durability accordingly.

H350, Satisfies the European Standards with Optimized Loading Space
Thanks to the optimized length, height, and width of the deck, up to five standard European pallets (1,200×800×900) can be loaded (two middle doors and three rear doors). These will be realized by developing a wide door with an effective width of 1,200 mm or wider. The wide door further facilitates the access of a forklift. The rear doors—twin swing doors— swing open up to a full 270 degrees, which ensures maximum space during loading.
Comfortable Getting On/Off Pattern
For light- and medium-duty truck drivers, comfortably getting on and off a vehicle is one of the most crucial elements. Thus, a scientific and ergonomic design was adopted to complete a natural and comfortable pattern for getting on and off the vehicle.
Aerodynamic
Run Through the Air
Outstanding Aerodynamics through a Digital Wind Tunnel
Hyundai Motor Company has built a digital wind tunnel process dedicated for commercial vehicles. This process allows for the application of consistent test conditions without limits to time and space. As a result, more detailed aerodynamic engineering has been established. The digital wind tunnel-based verification has been conducted to every single item to achieve the best performance. Consequently, airflow around cabs and vehicles has been successfully improved.
